A catastrophic warehouse blast erases syndicate don Dante's recollections of his beloved fiancée Elena, leaving him obsessively protective of his manipulative stepsister Sophia. When Elena attends a family banquet to retrieve an heirloom locket, Sophia forces her to ingest fatal allergens and frames her for theft. Blinded by deceit, Dante slashes Elena's musical wrist and hurls her off a third-story balcony.
Surviving the fall with severe physical trauma, Elena learns she was adopted into the clan under false pretenses. Discarding all longing for a heartless groom, she torches their photographs and boards a midnight flight to Rome to rebuild her life. But when Dante's memories return in a flood of agony, he races across Europe to beg on his knees.
