Duke conceals his divine coastal origin after an ancient oceanic hex binds his supernatural surfboard and forces him into a five-year marriage with Kai, a human surfer. For half a decade he diligently manages their household and coaches her toward global championship renown, only to receive bitter insults and dismissal as an unmotivated freeloader.
Kai rekindles an arrogant romance with her wealthy former boyfriend, convinced Duke is completely expendable. When the final hour of Duke's curse expires, his enchanted board expands to full power, presenting him with the ultimate choice: grant his treacherous wife unearned forgiveness or unleash ancient tides and walk away forever.
